Tree Lighting & Holiday Festivities To Be Held On Downtown Plaza de Las Cruces!
The holidays are a time of year when all of Las Cruces comes together to celebrate the successes of the past year and to enjoy the company of friends and family.
This year on December 3rd, Visit Las Cruces and the City of Las Cruces will be transforming downtown into a winter wonderland and presenting an unforgettable evening of holiday festivities.
The evening kicks off at 5:00 p.m. with live holiday music by Unlyshed on the plaza stage. The plaza will be filled with family entertainment and activities for the kids hosted by City of Las Cruces departments. Around the plaza and on Main St. there will be small groups of carolers. There will also be food trucks and refreshments. The evening will be capped off by the tree lighting ceremony on the plaza beginning at 6:30 p.m.
“We are very proud to have such a wondering venue to showcase and celebrate the holidays,” said Las Cruces Mayor Ken Miyagishima. “City of Las Cruces staff have put a tremendous amount of time and effort into planning this year’s events. We look forward to seeing downtown aglow with lights and are excited for the citizens of Las Cruces to be part of a new tree lighting tradition for many years to come.”
The historic Rio Grande Theater will also be showcasing Feliz Navidad: A Mariachi Christmas beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The town of Mesilla will be holding their tree lighting on December 9th on the Historic Mesilla Plaza. Plaza shops will also be open late for holiday shoppers.
