Get lost indoors at the Mesilla Valley Outdoor Expo at the Las Cruces Convention Center, January 9-11. Bring the whole family and enjoy all the fun activities.
See the latest camping, hunting and fishing equipment as well as other recreational gear. Check out some ATV’s, boats, kayaks and other outdoor home items such as hot tubs, tuff sheds, pools and spas.
The expo will feature several interactive seminars with discussions and tips on fly fishing, catfishing, high desert archery, campfire cooking, safari hunting, bow hunting, fitness and other outdoor recreational experiences.
There will be lots of activities for children to enjoy inside the convention center such as fishing at the interactive pond; learning to shoot a B.B. gun; climbing a rock wall or playing laser tag. Also in-house is the Mesilla Valley Module Railroad Club which will be showcasing some extravagant train models and setups.

The expo will also have a special guest in attendance, Vinny Hickerson, former contestant on the Biggest Loser. He will be in town to promote the Biggest Loser Run/Walk Race to be held on January 18th. People can register and pay at the expo, and receive a huge discount on their fees. The half-marathon race will be discounted $20 and the 5k race $10. The special discount is not available online.
Admission is $8 for adults and $5 with a military ID, children 10 and under get in free. The event begins on Friday from 1 – 6 p.m. and continues Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
