The world’s premier comedy club, theatre and school of improvisation from Chicago is bringing their legendary comedy tour show to Las Cruces. The Second City 55th Tour Anniversary show will be performing at the Rio Grande Theatre on Saturday, November 22nd at 7:30 p.m.
The club is opening up their vaults and reviving some of the show’s best comedy sketches to celebrate 55 years of laughter. It is bringing some of the clubs most talented comedians on tour to entertain audiences throughout the country. These future superstars from the powerhouse comedy club will be presenting classic material created by some of the best and funniest comedians to ever tour with the Second City show.
Some of the show’s past comic stars include Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Amy Poehler, Steve Carell, Bill Murray, Jason Sudeikis, Key & Peele’s Keegan, Michael Key and Saturday Night Live’s current “Weekend Update” co-anchor, Cecily Strong. These and other outstanding comics have performed with the Second City tour show over the years and have delighted audiences with their stand-up, improvised comedy.
Critics describe The Second City 55th Tour Anniversary show as a mix of “old school and new school” humor. The cast of comics delivers legendary comedy sketches made famous by their predecessors interweaved with present day mockery picked from today’s headlines, along with stand-up improv produced right on the spot.
It’s an interactive show with plenty of audience participation and show organizers promise it will be an eventful evening for patrons.

The theatre will also be offering discount tickets to New Mexico State University students 15 minutes prior to the start of the show. A university photo ID is required and tickets may be purchased for $10. Its first come first serve and student discounted tickets will only be sold during that period of time.
