September is just around the corner and that means another spectacular Monuments to Main Street is about to kick off. The month-long celebration of nature, history, culture, the arts, heritage, music and the great Southern New Mexico outdoors returns for its 4th year. This year brings back all of your fall favorites like the Hatch Chile Festival, Mesilla Corn Maze, and the Harvest Wine Festival and introduces lots of new events like the White Sands Monument Sunset Stroll and the Top of the World Ridge Hike. And for a weekend of all things outdoors, don’t miss the Picacho Mountain Outdoor Festival and 5K Fun Run and Walk. A super-fun new child friendly event.

The celebration kicks off on Sunday, September 1 with a sampling of the best that Las Cruces has to offer. Your only dilemma will be where to start! 

Grab a buddy and cool down while you enjoy the sites of Organ Mountain - Desert Peaks National Monument from a 1 ½ hour lazy float down the Rio Grande. 

Prefer to stay on land? 

Enjoy a Bikepacking & Stargazing campout to Leasburg Dam State Park.Want to skip the physical activity this weekend? No problem. 

The Hatch Chile Festival and some of the world’s finest chile awaits you. 

And don’t forget It’s wine harvest season, so why not pop on over to the Las Cruces Harvest Wine Festival and try some of New Mexico’s finest vintages.

Don’t miss the Kick-Off Fiesta on Mesquite Street with live music, stagecoach rides and more.  Celebrate Mexican Independence Day in Historic Mesilla for Diez Y Seis de Septiembre Fiesta with live music, games, and a parade. La Gran Fiesta celebrates southern New Mexico traditions and people on Plaza de la Cruces.
