Artist Reception for June 5 to 7 pm
The regular monthly artists’ reception, taking place in the El Paso Electric Gallery from 5 to 7pm during the First Friday Downtown ArtRamble, will feature the original fine art renderings of nationally recognized graphic designer and printing consultant Jack Pumphrey. Please join us for this wonderful exhibit, meet the artists and get a first hand look at the artistic process.

Tuesday, June 9
Every Other Tuesday: Alyssa Gose  & Elijah Estrada 6:30 pm
A 17-year-old senior at Las Cruces High School who plans on majoring in musical theatre, Alyssa Gose has appeared in over 25 plays and musicals including ASTC’s “Meet Me in St. Louis” and Scaffolding Theatre Company’s “Nine.” She sings in the LCHS choir and Swing Choir, is captain of the LCHS Show Choir and is an Honors soloist, among many other accomplishments. Joining Alyssa on stage will be fellow soloist Elijah Estrada and pianist David Cunniff. Every Other Tuesday is a Doña Ana Arts Council program that showcases local performers beginning promptly at 6:30 pm.  The event is FREE and open to the public. Saturday, June 13
Cruel  7 pm
A contemporary dance show in two acts – based on the novel “1984” by George Orwell and choreographed by Mexican director and choreographer Ebert Ortiz – Cruel analyzes the evolution of mankind, from its initial stages, through the birth of its consciousness and concluding with a retrospective of its innermost thoughts and beliefs. Presented by the City of Las Cruces and the Consulate General of Mexico in El Paso. Doors open at 6:30pm and the presentation begins at 7pm. All ages.  General admission is free to the public. Saturday, June 20
Nosotros: Feed the Body and Soul 7 pm
The Doña Ana Arts Council and Casa de Peregrinos will join forces with hometown legends Nosotros to present a concert and food drive at the Rio Grande Theatre titled “Feed the Body and Soul” in order to address a very real need in our community. Donations will be accepted at the door to feed the body, then one of the hottest and hardest working Latin musical acts in the southwest will take the stage to feed the soul with their Latin, Rock and Jazz rhythms. In addition, Project MainStreet will have a food truck roundup and High Desert Brewery lining the street in front of the Rio Grande Theatre from 6 to 10pm.

A piano prodigy born in the Philippines, who began playing at age 4, was touring America at age 14 and was enrolled in Juilliard at age 16, Johnoscar will present selections from his upcoming album “Cinema Paradiso: A Night At The Movies,” featuring arrangement and interpretations from some of the greatest film music ever composed, by John Barry, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, John Williams, Ennio Morricone, Michael Nyman and Charlie Chaplin. Friday & Saturday, June 26 & 27
ACT presents Robin Hood 10 am and 1 pm
Actors ranging in age from 5 to 15 will take the stage when A Children’s Theater of the Mesilla Valley (ACT) presents its annual summer production about a rogue bandit and his band of merry men who rob from the rich to give to the poor. Doors open Friday, June 26 at 9am, show starts at 10am. Doors open Saturday, June 27 at noon, show starts at 1pm. Tickets are $3 general admission on Friday, $7 general admission on Saturday. On Exhibit in the El Paso Electric Gallery
A freelance commercial artist since 1988, Jack Pumphrey has honed his skills over the years by creating commissioned artwork of classic cars, fine yachts and home architectural renderings using watercolor, pen and ink, photography and mixed media. A resident of Las Cruces since 1998, his original fine art pieces are regularly commissioned by friends and customers around the world. The featured artist for the entire month of May, Pumphrey’s exhibit will begin with an opening reception on Friday, June 5.

Every month the Doña Ana Arts Council welcomes local artists to exhibit in the El Paso Electric Gallery in the lobby of the Rio Grande Theatre.
