The Amigo Airsho is ready to “Rock the Skies” in their new home at the Doña Ana County International Jetport in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, November 1-2. Gates open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
Some of the featured performers include the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, the U.S. Army Golden Knights Jump Team, Kyle Franklin’s Flying Circus, the Indy Boys Jet Bus, hang glider Dan Buchanan of Dan Buchanan Airshow and Kyle Franklin’s Dracula Biplane. Also performing are Rifle Airs Shows by G&M Airshows and Joe Shetterly, Rifle Airshows. Other featured acts include the Customs and Border Protection Demo Team along with El Paso Paramotor Demo Team.
Besides the aerial entertainment, there is plenty of activities on the ground. Families can enjoy the children’s play area which has rides and other fun activities. The air show displays some of America’s finest military aircraft and equipment, as well as civilian and commercial aircraft. The Doña Ana County International Jetport is also home to the War Eagles Museum which houses some of the finest vintage and historic war planes from the World War II and Korean War era; check the website for more details. A tradeshow is also part of the event and there is plenty of food and beverage concessionaires’ onsite.
The Doña Ana County International Jetport is located at 8014 Airport Rd., Santa Teresa, N.M. Visitors to the event should take I-10; exit Artcraft Road; head west on Artcraft through the Texas/New Mexico state line (Artcraft road turns into Pete Dominici Highway) until you reach NM 273 or McNutt Road. New Mexico State Police will be stationed at that intersection to direct traffic onto Airport Rd and through to the jetport. Follow signs and law enforcement directions to the parking area.
Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for children under the age of 12. Those under the four get in free. Tickets can be purchased at ticketmaster.com or at any ticket master location. Tickets can also be purchased at the Plaza Theatre Box Office located at 125 Pioneer Plaza in El Paso. This location offers no convenience charges. There is plenty of free event side parking and no shuttles are required for this year’s event.
