The Coasters had several hits, there first, “Down in Mexico,” was released in the spring of 1956 and sold approximately 500,000 copies. The following year, in 1957, songs “Young Blood” and “Searchin” reached the top of the charts. The Coasters continued their success with a pair of songs in 1958, “Yakety Yak” and “Charlie Brown” both were blockbuster hits. For several weeks, these songs held their ranking on the Billboard top ten list becoming a testament to the Coasters future success. The group became iconic, producing hit after hit, with songs like, “Poison Ivy”, “Along Came Jones”, “Little Egypt”, “Love Potion #9”, “Zing Went the Strings of My Heart”, and “Baby that’s Rock ‘N’ Roll”, to name a few.

So don’t miss out on an exhilarating performance and experience an era of music history that can’t be replaced but only recounted. The evening begins with sounds from Remember Then….A Class Act, a local 50’s, legendary Doo-Whop band from Las Cruces. They warm-up the crowd for the first half-hour before joining the Coasters as back-up. It’s a high-energy show with two great musical groups and a trip back to an era when Rock’n’ Roll was just in its infancy.
