Las Cruces Farmers & Crafts Market
Stretching over seven blocks on Main Street in downtown Las Cruces, the market has close to 300 vendors, with new ones added regularly. You can explore goods, art, jewelry, foods and local entertainment. Full market Saturdays only.
Public Pools & Splashpads
The summer months bring the heat in Las Cruces. Located in the heart of Las Cruces, take the kiddos to cool off at the city’s splash pads and public pools. Check out the Regional Aquatic Center and Natatorium for indoor swimming, open during the summer months.
Historic Mesilla
Mesilla is home to historical attractions such as the San Albino Basilica. It also features a variety of contemporary boutiques, unique stores, galleries, wineries and specialty restaurants serving traditional New Mexican cuisine and American fare.
Local Museums
Located in downtown Las Cruces you can find the Branigan Cultural Center and the Museum of Art. Both have exhibits that are educational on the culture and art in the surrounding area. The Museum of Nature & Science is also a fun activity that allows visitors to learn about the New Mexico wildlife, prehistoric animals, space, history and more. All three are free and open to the public. The Railroad Museum is also a must stop for the family and train enthusiasts. It is even housed at a former train depot.
For an interactive experience visit the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum in all its 47-acre glory. Packed full of history and stories about the local ranching and farming, the indoor exhibits and outdoor ranch and dairy
Hikes
For a fun day out, try one of our local hiking trails surrounding the city. Las Cruces offers a variety from beginner to experienced. Some popular trails are the Dripping Springs Natural Area with over four miles of easy hiking trails, Slot Canyon and its winding pathways and surreal view, and the Mesilla Valley Bosque State Park for its wildlife viewing opportunities.

Be sure to check out events that are happening during your visit! The city puts on plenty of family-friendly FREE events such as the annual mira! Las Cruces festival, Fourth of July Electric Light Parade, Movies/Music in the Park series and the annual Christmas Tree Lighting.
