Farmer's & Crafts Market
Start your Saturday off with seven blocks of local vendors lined up on main street, selling everything such as art, jewelry, knick-knacks, clothes, accessories, décor, and food of course! Free to attend, you can window-shop until you find something to take home. The Las Cruces Farmer's & Crafts Market is a great way to get out of the house and into the community for a few hours. Be sure to grab a bite from the local establishments downtown while you’re there.
Fine Arts Flea Market
If you're a local or in town the first Friday of the month, be sure to check out the first Friday Fine Arts Flea Market. Here you will find many brilliant craftsmen and artists present their unique and locally-made work for sale. It's a great way to get a peek into the local art in the area. Items presented and sold range such as knittings, beadings, paintings, woodworking, custom shirts, rugs, collectables, candles, and so much more! Be sure to check out the local food trucks and specialty drinks as well! Occurs the first Friday of every month.

Local Museums
After browsing the market, take advantage of the downtown scene and check out the local and FREE Museum of Nature and Science, Museum of Art and the Branigan Cultural Center. Here you can learn about the local history, scientific discoveries, ecosystems and the talented local artists who share their work.
If you’re looking for a more interactive experience, try heading to the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum to learn about the surrounding agriculture. Offering over 40 acres, packed full of stories about the farming and ranching in the area, the Farm and Ranch is a great place to get out and learn. Adults can get admission for $7, senior citizens for $6, children (4-17) for $5 and veterans can get it at $4.

Hike & Swim
If you’re looking to get outdoors and get active, try going on a local hike. For something fun and whimsical, head out to Slot Canyon and take in the surreal curves and views. Drive out to Dripping Springs Natural Area and enjoy over four miles of easy hiking trails. The autumn weather makes for cool and sweat-free hikes and beautiful sights. Want to be active but stay warm? Spend some time at one of the indoor aquatic centers in Las Cruces. Both the Regional Aquatic Center and the Natatorium are open year-round for pool fun and activity. Adults are priced at $4 for entrance.
Explore Historic Mesilla
Mesilla, NM is just a short drive away, revealing a beautiful historic town packed with stories, culture, and delicious cuisine. The Mesilla Plaza is a great stop for anyone visiting. It's a wonderful sight, overlooked by the San Albino Basilica — which still offers mass to this day. Be sure to check out the local shops, and dining at one of their restaurants is a must! Drive out to White Sands National Park
Pack up the car and make a day trip out to White Sands National Park to feast your eyes on endless white gypsum dunes. Early morning or late afternoon make for optimal sledding times so don't forget to bring yours or stop by the gift shop to rent one! Bring your own food, snacks and drinks and set up shop for lunch while you're out there. Fees can vary, but fill up the car with passengers and get the $25 vehicle pass for everyone to get in.
