Happy Pride Month! June brings in the celebration of LGBTQIA+ pride in the U.S. Las Cruces is known as a LGBTQIA+-friendly destination and, while the city holds its Pride celebration in October, here are a few queer-friendly businesses and spaces in town.
Little Toad Creek Brewery & Distillery
The it spot for a fun night in downtown Las Cruces, Little Toad has a friendly and welcoming environment for everyone. Grab a unique toad-inspired cocktail or brew and chow down on their food. Never dull, Little Toad is bound to have something going on - musical bingo, karaoke, lotteria, trivia, paint & sips, drag shows and more! You’ll find the Toad has a rowdy, fun environment with incredible staff and fantastic vibes that is adored by locals and visitors alike.
Salud! de Mesilla
Co-owned by Christopher Schaljo-Hernandez and his husband, Mesilla, NM Mayor, Russel Hernandez. Salud’s doors have been open to the queer community since 2016. The restaurant is known for its fusion food, tapas-style cuisine, award-winning cocktails and wine menu and its beautiful setting. Salud hosts a drag show on the last Saturday of the month and currently serves rainbow drinks on the last Wednesday of the month so don't miss out!
The Bean of Mesilla
Known as an LGBTQIA+ owned and operated business, The Bean serves up some of the best coffee, delicious pastries and beautiful customer service in town. With two other locations open, (The Bean at Josefina’s & The Bean on Mesquite) owner Mickey Balderas has built tasteful safe spaces for the community to enjoy a great cup-of-joe.
Grounded
A popular local and visitor favorite in Las Cruces, Grounded is another great spot for the LGBTQIA+ community to grab a cup of coffee, breakfast, wine, pizza and a fun photogenic environment perfect for meeting friends, dates or studying. Don't miss their Queer Crafters group meetups on Tuesdays or their Queer Nights on Thursdays!
Sol Y Luna Homegirls
Queer-owned and operated, Sol Y Luna represents Latino culture in their merchandise with fun and cute designs on t-shirts, jewelry, stickers, totes, glassware and more! Often spotted at the Farmers and Crafts Market of Las Cruces, take home one of their LGBTQIA+ inspired designs.
The Hissin' Kitten
Founded by the colorful and vibrant Sarah Q, The Hissin' Kitten is known as the most colorful (and candid) shop in Las Cruces. The merchandise includes stickers, pins, keychains and jewelry that don’t hold back in creative presentations of bold statements, many of which are LGBTQIA+ related or inspired.
