Chow Down on Menudo, Posole + More

Nothing quite compares to a steaming bowl of hot soup on cold winter days. Here are a few local spots to hit for your fix of Mexican cuisine.

La Nueva Casita CaféLa Posta de Mesilla Posole

Get your weekends going with a bowl of menudo at La Nueva Casita. This winter staple dish is well-known for being made with tripe, hominy, and red chili broth. It's the perfect way to warm your palate with both its spice and heat. Not your thing? Try their posole instead, or sample other authentic Mexican recipes from spicy enchiladas to steaming caldo de res — their traditional dishes are sure to satiate your appetite.

Andele Restaurant

Head to the nearby Historic Mesilla and chow down on Andele's all-you-can-eat menudo on Saturdays and Sundays. If you want something a little different, stop in during the week to treat yourself to a savory bowl or cup of pozole. Posole is another Mexican soup dish also made with hominy and chile broth, but it contains pork or chicken instead of tripe and the broth can be made with either red or green chile.

Delicias Cafe

Hit all your hot soup needs at Delicias Café. They’ve got it all, from caldo de pollo and caldo de res, to menudo and pozole and even sopa de fideo. Offered and open everyday but Sunday, their hot and spicy dishes are sure to fill you so don't miss out on the rest of their extensive menu!
